Again there have been some exciting new Education
Features uploaded to the POWERtalk Website. Thanks go to the
contributors of these features and to Gerry Lightfoot for taking on the
mammoth task of formatting them into POWERtalk International
Education Features.
All can be found in the new Education Feature category
in Resource Centre ► Education Features.
The President’s newsletter Renew and Revive #5
Newsletter can be found via the menu bar Members’ News.
Reports Due Now
The International Board will be holding its
second in-person board meeting of the term on March 7-8-9 in Hawaii USA.
This location was chosen as the most convenient meeting place seeing that
the majority of the International Board members reside in proximity to both
sides of the Pacific Rim.
One of the main agenda points at this meeting will be the
studying and discussing of reports. It is through reports that the
International Board is kept abreast of what is happing in the organization.
Region Presidents and International Committee
Chairmen are reminded to submit their reports no later than February
23. Clubs and Councils are reminded that their deadline for submitting
reports will be much earlier and that action should be taken now.
Fellows of ITC

Tip :
Plan your holiday to
include visiting a POWERtalk Conference!
Target Twenty Twenty
As we move into the second part of the POWERtalk
International year clubs should be thinking about our Target 20/20
Program. Are you close to attaining twenty members, or almost there
increasing your membership by twenty per cent? Maybe you need a recruitment
drive to bring in those extra members? There are plenty of good ideas for
recruiting in the PREM pages of the POWERtalk website
www.powertalkinternational.com . Once you meet the Twenty Twenty target
complete the Target 20 form to be found in Resource Centre ► PREM ►
Target Twenty and send it to President-Elect, Margaret Sutherland (margs@bigpond.net.au
or 8 Jutland Street, New Town 7008, Tasmania, Australia) so that you can be
recognised for your effort.
Great incentives are there to tempt you. Increase your
membership by 100% and you will receive a free International membership
at the time of your next member. Sounds difficult but it happened last term.
The Board is also introducing a new incentive this term and that is that all
clubs, either increasing their membership by 20% or by reaching
membership to twenty, the club will go into a draw for a free
International membership at the time of the next new member.
President-Elect Margaret is looking forward to receiving
many completed Twenty Twenty forms.
Save the Date
The date to save is OCTOBER 10 - 12, 2008
when Sierra Pacific Region and International
President Mary Marshall will be hosting the POWERtalk
International Training Weekend and gala celebration of the 70th
Anniversary of International Toastmistress Clubs. This special event
will take place in San Francisco at the Westin San Francisco Airport
Hotel.
As information becomes available you will find it via the
Training Weekend website:
www.powertalkinternational-trainingweekend2008.com
If you are interested in presenting a workshop or helping
the coordination team then contact the Coordinator Maria Trujillo email:
mvtruj@aol.com
Tip :
Come to the POWERtalk
Training Weekend and we can all wish each other a Happy Birthday!
Bookings for Convention 2009

The POWERtalk Writing Contest is an annual contest. The
International Board encourages you to put your writing skills to paper and
submit your text to your Region Writing Contest Chairman.
Deadline date March 1, 2008.
Winners of the Region Writing Contest will go on and be
judged at International level. Winners at International level will be
announced in July 2008 FtB and recognized at Convention 2009.
Power Lines
After initial problems of finding an editor, the
International Board is pleased to inform you that Sue Ballard has agreed to
continue the challenge as editor of PREM Power Lines. With many Train
the Trainer sessions now in progress and with some regions already running
POWERtalk Short Courses there must be many stories to tell on
how your club recruited new members.
Do share your successes and even the obstacles you have
come across, with Power Lines Editor Sue Ballard email
sueballard@aussieisp.net.au. Sue would like your copy by February 14,
2008.
